Bassim Wahab

Bassim Wahab was born and raised in Sacramento, CA, to Palestinian parents, both of whom grew up close to the city of Ramallah, Palestine. His parents migrated to the United States to escape the violence of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank after the 1967 Naksa/Six-Day War. After studying at Sacramento City College, Bassim moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly, where he received his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. He has lived in SLO since and works as a professional tutor to local students. He is active in Palestinian organizing communities on the Central Coast, and devotes time to playing viola in Cal Poly’s Arab Music Ensemble.
